A Track Record of Over 50 Years
Toray launched TORAYNEECE™, a polyimide-based heat-resistant insulating varnish, in 1970. The non-photodefinable polyimide varnish SEMICOFINE™, launched in 1979, has been used for many years for protective and insulating film applications in semiconductor elements due to its high reliability.
Furthermore, based on Toray's core technologies in organic synthetic chemistry, polymer chemistry, and nanotechnology, we have advanced research and development for higher functionality. We have expanded our product lineup with products such as PHOTONEECE™ (photodefinable polyimide varnish) and FALDA™ (polyimide B-stage film), contributing to the miniaturization and improved reliability of semiconductors and electronic components.
Innovative Materials Development
By combining our core technologies with elemental technologies such as photodefinable material design and thin film formation, we continue to research and develop advanced materials and technologies to meet the needs of society. We contribute to the development of the semiconductor and electronic component industries by offering safer materials and processes with a lower environmental impact, including products that do not use NMP (N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone), a substance restricted under REACH regulations.
